Complete Itinerary - Sacred Valley of the Incas Tour

Explore one of the most magical and transcendental valleys of the Peruvian Andes. The Sacred Valley of the Incas, located at 2,800 meters above sea level, is a natural and historical jewel surrounded by imposing snow-capped mountains, ancient agricultural terraces and archaeological sites that narrate the splendor of a civilization that changed the history of America.

During the Inca Empire, this valley was a political, religious, military and agricultural center of great importance. Today, its charming villages - Pisac, Calca, Yucay, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo - continue to preserve ancestral traditions, fused with the colonial architecture imposed after the arrival of the Spaniards.

On this tour, you will travel through a territory that still breathes the history of Pachacutec, Manco Inca and other great leaders who marked the golden age of the Tahuantinsuyo. Through ruins, temples and impressive landscapes, you will witness how this millenary culture is still alive.

We start this experience by picking you up from your hotel, as long as it is located within the historic center of Cusco or nearby areas. In order to guarantee a punctual and organized service, we will previously coordinate with you the exact pick up time, according to the chosen shift.

Tour Description

1. Taray viewpoint (3,200 m a.s.l.)

We start the tour heading to the spectacular Taray viewpoint. From here you will enjoy a panoramic view of the Sacred Valley and the meandering Vilcanota River. The scenery is ideal for photographs and a brief introduction to the tour.

2. Pisac Archaeological Site (2,972 m.a.s.l.)

We will visit the archaeological complex of Pisac, a group of Inca terraces and neighborhoods perfectly integrated into the mountainside. Here you will find the Intihuatana sector, with a ceremonial rock used to mark the solstices, as well as water channels, temples and the largest pre-Hispanic cemetery in South America.

Pisac is also famous for its handicraft market, especially on Sundays, when high Andean communities come to exchange products according to the ancestral tradition of bartering.

3. Buffet lunch in the heart of the Sacred Valley

After a journey full of history, we will take a break to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in a tourist restaurant surrounded by the tranquility of the valley.

4. Ollantaytambo (2,792 m.a.s.l.)

This amazing archeological complex was one of the most important during the Inca empire. It is composed of religious, military, urban and agricultural sectors.

Here you will be able to contemplate the imposing Portada del Templo del Sol, the enigmatic wall of six monoliths, and the baths of the Ñusta. In addition, the design of the site is astronomically aligned, generating unique lighting effects during the solstices, suggesting its use as a solar observatory and ceremonial center.

5. Chinchero (3,700 m.a.s.l.)

Our last stop will be Chinchero, considered the resting place of the Inca Tupac Yupanqui. The site is noted for its colonial temples built on Inca foundations, its extensive agricultural terraces and shrines.

The town is also famous for its traditional textiles, where local women keep alive the ancient art of weaving with alpaca wool dyed with natural dyes.

End of the Tour

After a day full of history, culture and unforgettable landscapes, we will return to the city of Cusco in the late afternoon.
