Itinerary summary

DAY 1: CUSCO CITY TOUR

• Pick up from Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (Cusco) to your hotel.
• Start of the City Tour Cusco (09:00 hrs. or 13:00 hrs.) for this we will pick you up from your hotel.
• Guided visit to the archaeological sites that includes tour: Cusco Cathedral, Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.
• We finish the City Tour Cusco in the city of Cusco.

DAY 2: HUMANTAY LAKE

• The tour starts very early with the pick up from your hotel at 4:30 am.
• The tour departs from the city of Cusco towards the district of Mollepata in a 2 hour trip.
• After that we will have breakfast buffet in a restaurant in the same district of Mollepata.
• We will leave Mollepata towards Soraypampa, where the hike to the Humantay lagoon begins.
• After the indications by the guide we will begin the walk of approximately 2 hours to reach the lake.
• Once located in the lake we will have the explanation by the guide of the place, and we will also have time to take pictures.
• After a unique experience we will begin with the descent to Soraypampa where we will take the bus to go to the tourist restaurant and have our buffet lunch.
• The tour ends with the return to Cusco at 17:30 hrs.

DAY 3: MACHUPICCHU

• Pick up from your hotel in Cusco at 04:30 am to the train station.

*The schedule may vary according to the availability of trains.

• At the train station we will take the bus transfer service to the next station where we will take the train to Machupicchu (Aguas Calientes).
• In the town of Aguas Calientes we will take the bus that will take us to the entrance gate to Machupicchu.
• Our guide will be waiting for us at the entrance to Machupicchu where we will begin the guided tour for a period of approximately 2 hours.
• After the experience in Machupicchu we will board the bus to Aguas Calientes, then take the train back to Ollantaytambo where we will transfer by bus to Cusco.
• Upon arrival in Cusco, we will pick you up from the train station to take you to your hotel.
• This is the end of the Machupicchu tour.

DAY 4: CUSCO - AIRPORT

• The next day we will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport in Cusco.

Complete Itinerary

CUSCO 4 DAYS/3 NIGHTS includes the tourist destinations of the City Tour Cusco, Humantay Lake and Machupicchu, this tour package will allow you to know the best tourist destinations that includes the City Tour Cusco (3390 masl) in a tour of the Cathedral of Cusco, followed by the most important temple of the Inca empire "the Qoricancha" (temple of the sun) and the visit to the most important Inca archaeological sites of Cusco as Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.

On the second day you will visit the natural attraction of the Humantay Lake (4200 masl) characterized by the turquoise color of its waters formed by the thawing of the Salkantay and Humantay snow-capped mountains that provide a unique landscape surrounded by snow-capped mountains.

Finally, on the third day you will depart in a luxury train on a journey through landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Incas to go to the wonder of the world Machupicchu (2435 meters above sea level) where you will be part of the Inca history, a magical and ideal place to recharge ourselves with the positive energy of the place.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: CUSCO CITY TOUR

• The day begins with a welcome at the international airport Alejandro Velasco Astete (Cusco) to drive you to your hotel in the city of Cusco.
• Prior to the tour we will give you all the information of your 4 day tour giving you the tourist tickets, bus and train tickets necessary for the execution of the tours and clear any doubts you may have about the realization of the tours.
• We will give the start of the City Tour Cusco (09:00 hrs. or 13:00 hrs.) prior coordination with you. Then we will transfer you from your hotel to the starting point of the City Tour Cusco.
• The first point of visit will start from the main square of Cusco, where we will have a guided tour from the ancient palace of the Inca Viracocha called Sunturwasi on which stands the Cathedral of Cusco which has a Renaissance style and a plateresque style inside the ships, here are also samples of religious works of colonial art and the great Cusco school.
• Then we will go to the Qoricancha or also called the Temple of the Sun, built in its oldest parts with green diorite, red andesite and gray andesite in its walls built by Pachacutec. An enclosure where samples of the Andean cosmovision of the Incas, Inca architecture, temple to the main deities such as the sun, the moon, stars and canvases of the Cusco school are exhibited, where today is the temple of Santo Domingo of the Dominican order.
• We will continue our guided visit to Sacsayhuaman (2km), its name means satisfied falcon, built in the government of Pachacutec and Huayna Capac, a place characterized by large polygonal megalithic constructions, terraces, shrines, ritual fountains, subway passages, artificial lagoons and astronomical observatories. This is also the place where the festival of the Sun or Inti Raymi takes place every June 24th and the Warachicuy in the month of September where the Inca nobles tested their physical endurance, skill and strength.
• The next point of visit will be Qenqo (4 km), its name comes from the Quechua language that means labyrinth or zigzag, was one of the most enigmatic centers that fulfilled a religious function, this place is formed by labyrinths and rocky outcrops. also in it we can observe an amphitheater with trapezoidal niches.
• Our next point of visit will continue with Pucapucara (8km) or red fortress, an archaeological site composed of terraces, walls and staircases where the red color predominates in its constructions that served as an administrative and military center before the entrance to the city of Cusco.
• The last place to visit will be Tambomachay (8 km) or rest of the Inca nobility, characterized by water fountains, trapezoidal windows. A place dedicated to the cult of water, the element of life and that shows a system of scenographic architecture in its condition of having subway water sources where purification rituals were performed.
• The tour ends with the return to Cusco.

DAY 2: HUMANTAY LAKE

The tour to the Humantay lake starts very early with the pick up from your hotel from 04:30 am.

• The tour to the Humantay Lake starts from the city of Cusco heading northeast to reach the district of Mollepata (2803 masl) in the province of Anta (3337 masl) in a journey of 2 hours.
• Once we are located in Mollepata we will have our buffet breakfast in one of the tourist restaurants in the same district before the start of our hike to the lagoon.
• After a delicious breakfast we will leave from the district of Mollepata towards Soraypampa (3900 masl) in a 1 hour trip, where we will start with the hike.
• Once we are located in Soraypampa, this is the starting point of the tour for it before the walk the guide will give us all the information prior to the tour, we start the walk in the course of the walk we can see animals in the area as alpacas, llamas, vizcachas, deer and we can also observe the famous apachetas that are made of stone in conical shape that are symbols of respect for the mountains. You can also make an apacheta for this you will have to collect stones and make and leave it as a souvenir.
• The tour to reach the lake has an average duration of 2 hours uphill, once located in the place you will witness the beauty of the place and you can observe the turquoise waters of the lake of Humantay, there you will have the explanation of the guide in relation to stories and reviews of the place and after that you will have enough time to take the best pictures of the place.
• After a unique experience in the lake we will begin with the descent to Soraypampa where the bus will be waiting for us and then we will go to Mollepata where we will have a delicious buffet lunch in a tourist restaurant after a long day.
• Finally we will return to the city of Cusco arriving at an average of 17:30 hrs in the historic center of the city.

DAY 3: MACHUPICCHU

• The day starts with the transfer from your hotel to the train station in Cusco at 04:30 am. At the train station we will take the bus transfer service to the next station where we will take the train to Machupicchu (Aguas Calientes) *The schedule may vary depending on the availability of trains.
• After you are on the train you will have the best views of the entire Sacred Valley of the Incas and its surroundings in a luxury train ride for tourists and thus enjoy the entire journey in the tour you will see the 2 starting points of the traditional Inca Trail at kilometer 82 where the 4-day trek begins and the short Inca Trail at kilometer 104 where the 2-day trek begins both treks culminate in the citadel of Machupicchu. The train tour ends in Aguas Calientes (2040 masl) where the train station in Machupicchu is located.
• When you are in Aguas Calientes you will be welcomed by a person from our agency to direct you to the bus station, here you will board the bus that will take you to the main entrance of Machupicchu in a 30 minute trip, at the entrance control gate to Machupicchu the tour guide will be waiting for you and you can start with the tour.

DAY 4: CUSCO - AIRPORT

• The next day we will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport in Cusco.
